This all sounds exciting, so it's important that we consider how the financing would operate.
After all, a plot of land with good location and good size will cost anywhere in the range of $75k–$150k. Thus, people who are looking to participate in getting this thing running should look at saving a few thousand a year to seriously make this prospect a reality.
I recommend dumping that money in a separate account so you know not to touch it. Personally, I have a couple small brokerage accounts that I just move money I'm saving into bonds or more conservative funds.
